Invited member of the advisory committee of the Ammodo KNAW Award 2017, domain Humanities.

The target group of the Ammodo KNAW Award is internationally recognised researchers working in the Netherlands who received their PhDs within the last fifteen years. The Award consists of eight sums of money each of 300,000 euros. The recipients of the Award can use this money at their own discretion to fund either their own research or a research project which they are leading into fundamental scientific issues.The Ammodo KNAW Award will be granted once every two years and covers all disciplines:

  • Biomedical sciences
  • Humanities
  • Natural sciences
  • Social sciences
A maximum of two researchers from each discipline can receive the Award. Principals of Dutch universities, heads of individual faculties of those universities and Dutch research institutes, as well as members of the KNAW and The Young Academy may nominate candidates. For each separate discipline an advisory committee consisting of 4 renowned professors will evaluate the nominations. These advisory committees will ultimately put forward two promising researchers active within their particular discipline for the consideration of Ammodo’s Board.
